Dana
Yeaton is the winner of the Heideman Award from the Actors Theatre of Louisville.
In addition to Mad River Rising and Midwives, his recent plays
include Jump Cut, To Bed with Betsy, a full-length farce produced
at the Volkov Theatre in Yaroslavl, Russia, that country's oldest professional
theatre. His dark comedy Lousy Mothers was winner of a New Play Fellowship
at the Shenandoah International Playwrights Retreat in Virginia. He is the
author of many plays for young adults, including Democracy Rules! A Rally
for Activism, Garden of Needham, and Alice in Love, winner of
the 1993 Vermont state Drama Festival. He has received three fellowships
in playwriting from the Vermont Arts Council. Currently he teaches dramatic
writing at Middlebury College and is Managing Director of Vermont Stage
Company, where he founded the Vermont Young Playwrights Project. The Big
Random (due soon from PenStroke), is his latest play.
